Biography
Danny Hansen was (b. 1987) currently resides in Portland, Oregon. He earned a bachelor’s degree in music composition in 2011 at Western
Washington University in Bellingham, Washington where his primary teachers were Bruce Hamilton and Roger Briggs. As a conductor, Danny has premiered several works by both himself and his peers. Awards and honors include winning the 2012 annual Classical Revolution PDX Annual Composed String Quartet Competition, The College of Performing of Fine Arts 2010-2011 Dean Scholarship, and participation in the summer 2010 composition and conducting courses taught by Samuel Adler and Emily Freeman-Brown at the Freie Universität Berlin. Danny is currently co-organizing a concert featuring the premiers of 10 new works by composers in the Pacific Northwest in collaboration with the Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble.
